A great picture of Charlie & Jake both winning their respective triathlons last weekend! Jake, Co Founder at Ziipline is also our clothing partner for the 2024 season!
Which brings us to a hot topic: how to train for a triathlon around a very busy working life?
Use your commute:
Try build your training into your commute. Whether it be a short run to a tube station or hitting the gym on the way back from work, make the training as easily accessible to you is key to consistency.
Lunch break:
No better way to split your day, get a short session in and most likely a more productive afternoon!
Mornings you can control:
Typically the first hour of the day you have some control over. This for most people is the easiest time to get out the door before the day runs away.
Plan races well around work:
When booking races we encourage athletes to consider the less busier times at work so they´ve some slack to train. If you´ve normally a quite August at work, September could be the best time for a race!
Start small:
Before signing up to an Ironman, try a local Sprint distance first. A far more manageable first step and less of an investment too. Then if feel its very achievable around your life go for an Olympic distance race and so on. Step by step!
Last ditch effort -try and get your boss to sign up to one too. Certainly helps the appraisal 😊
